A Number of Hurt as Rough Air Impacts A Delta Airlines Plane into Sydney, Australia
Several people have been injured after a Delta aircraft traveling from LA to Sydney, Australia experienced significant turbulence this past Friday.
Flight DL41 "experienced a brief period of turbulence" as it landed at Sydney Airport, an airline spokesperson informed. Four flight attendants were injured.
Emergency medical services reported they evaluated five individuals, and took three to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries that such as back pain and head pain. Those affected were between their 30s up to the 70s.
It is the most recent case of planes encountering turbulence, with aviation specialists saying that shifting climate patterns is a key driver.
The aircraft was carrying 245 passengers and fifteen staff members on the Airbus A350, the representative said, clarifying that the plane arrived "without further incident" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on the day in question.
Paramedics reported they received a call just a mere three minutes before the plane landed, and emergency vehicles were ready and waiting at the airport.
